Artistic Team

Adrienne Pedrotti Bingamon assumed the role of Artistic Director of Austin Cantorum in 2023, bringing to the position her extensive experience as a professional singer and conductor in the Austin area for the last 8 years.  She is the former conductor of Inversion Da Capo, a chorus devoted to new music for treble voices, and she currently serves as Assistant Conductor at St. Mary Cathedral.  She has appeared with numerous Texas-based professional vocal ensembles including Conspirare, Verdigris Ensemble, Texas Early Music Project, San Antonio Chamber Choir, Inversion Ensemble, and the Tinsel Singers, among others.  She is also a founding member of the all-female professional vocal

quintet VAMP.  She has a Masters Degree in Vocal Chamber Music from the University of Redlands, having studied under Chris Gabbitas, Artistic Director of the Phoenix Chorale. Aside from choral music, Adrienne's favorite thing to do is Jazzercise!  She teaches weekly classes as an Instructor at Jazzercise Austin.  Adrienne is so excited help bring Cantorum out of its pandemic hibernation and redevelop its place in the Austin choral community.

Founder and Collaborative Conductor Cristian Cantu began his musical studies at the Baltimore School for the Arts prior to earning his BA in Music from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University where he studied with Prof. Constantina Tsolainou and Dr. Jamie L. Nix. In 2018, Cristian earned his MM in Choral Conducting at The University of Texas at Austin studying under Dr. James Morrow.

Cristian has a passion for church music which began when he was a cantor and conducting scholar at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Columbus, Georgia with Dr. Rick McKnight. In Austin,

he has held positions at St. David’s Episcopal Church and St. Louis King of France Catholic Church & School. Abroad, Cristian has toured with choirs in England, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal and has held guest choral residencies at Norwich Cathedral and Ely Cathedral.

Beyond his work with Austin Cantorum, Cristian works as a Content Strategist for Meta and regularly sings with Texas Early Music Project, Texas Bach Festival, and the San Antonio Chamber Choir, among other ensembles.  He loves going to coffee shops and playing board games with friends.
